Donald Trump stated that Isaac Herzog told him that a pardon is in progress, during a joint press conference with Benjamin Netanyahu. The latter officially requested a pardon on November 30, wanting to put an end to the divisions caused by his legal issues. Netanyahu, accused of accepting luxury gifts from billionaires in exchange for political favors, denies the allegations.

Herzog's office clarified that a conversation took place with a representative of Trump, but any decision will be made according to legal procedures. Isaac Herzog previously suggested that he might grant a pardon, mentioning the impact of the trial on Israeli society. Netanyahu is the first sitting prime minister in Israel to be accused of corruption.
