The Ezzedin al-Qassam Brigades, the armed group of the Islamist movement Hamas, announced that they will hand over the remains of two Israeli hostages as part of the ceasefire in effect since October 10. The handover is scheduled for Thursday at 4:00 PM local time. So far, Hamas has returned 15 of the 28 promised remains, citing difficulties in locating them in the Gaza Strip, which has been affected by destruction.
Additionally, Hamas has postponed the handover of some remains due to alleged violations of the ceasefire by Israel, which ordered attacks in Gaza following the death of an Israeli soldier. These attacks have resulted in a significant number of civilian casualties. Despite the tensions, Hamas stated that it is not responsible for the incident that led to the Israeli attacks and reaffirmed its commitment to the ceasefire.
