Halushchenko, former Minister of Energy and current Minister of Justice, is under investigation by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) for a large-scale corruption case related to Energoatom, involving Timur Mindich, a close associate of President Zelensky. Although he has not been officially charged, Halushchenko has been suspended by the Cabinet of Ministers, which appointed Liudmila Suhak as acting Minister of Justice.
Halushchenko stated that he accepts the suspension as a civilized measure and that he will defend himself in court. His critics, including Anastasia Radina, head of the Ukrainian parliament's anti-corruption committee, believe that the suspension is not enough and are calling for his resignation or dismissal, as well as that of other ministers. NABU has conducted searches at locations linked to Halushchenko, and audio recordings suggest his involvement in corrupt activities.
