Greece has adopted the Climate Resilience Tax, which aims to support environmental protection and infrastructure development. This tax applies per accommodation unit and varies depending on the category of the unit and the duration of stay.

In the peak season (April – October), the rates are 2 euros for 1-2 star hotels, 5 euros for 3 star hotels, 10 euros for 4 star hotels, and 15 euros for 5 star hotels.

In the off-season (November – March), costs decrease significantly. Payment is made upon check-in, and the tax must be displayed separately on the tax documents.

Additionally, authorities have expanded the number of protected beaches where temporary constructions are prohibited, and penalties for traffic rule violations have been intensified, with significant fines for various offenses.
