Some 444 firefighters and air crews are battling the blaze, which has destroyed forests and pastures, causing evacuations and power cuts. The fires have broken out in several locations, and wind has complicated firefighting efforts. Minister Kefalogiannis emphasized the difficulties and promised an investigation into the causes of the fires, as Greece is frequently confronted with such phenomena exacerbated by climate change.
