Greece aims to become a key player in Eastern Europe by developing a new energy and trade interconnection corridor with Ukraine.

Greece, under the leadership of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, is asserting its ambition to play an active role in Eastern Europe by developing an interconnection corridor linking Alexandroupolis to Odessa, bypassing Turkish control. The project aims to improve freight transportation and diversify energy sources by building an LNG terminal at Alexandroupolis. Although there are challenges, such as high tariffs in Romania, Greece is looking for solutions to make the route a key element of stability and influence in the region.
