The Greek government will ban cell phones in Greek schools starting September 11, 2024. The measure is intended to ensure pupils focus on learning.

The ban will be imposed on all schools and students who break the rules will be penalized. Hungary will also impose a similar ban, including on other electronic devices with internet access. But the decision has drawn criticism from some trade unions.
