On Sunday, a gray wolf escaped from its enclosure at Tama Zoo in Tokyo, leading to the temporary closure of the park and a request for visitors to take shelter in buildings. The zoo authorities announced on the social media platform X that, to ensure safety, visitor access had been suspended.

The incident was reported by an employee around 9:30 AM, and the wolf was captured after nearly five hours, having been spotted in a bushy area. Tama Zoo, which houses approximately 260 species, was opened in the 1950s as an extension of Ueno Zoo in Tokyo.
