Google has reached a historic agreement with Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) to purchase 200 MW of nuclear fusion power, marking a significant step toward commercializing this clean energy source. CFS, a startup spun out of MIT, is developing a commercial power plant in Virginia, and Google will also contribute additional investment for fusion technology research. This technology promises abundant, carbon-free energy with the potential to transform the global energy future.
