After a partial suspension instituted in August, Germany approved exports of non-lethal military equipment to Israel worth 2.46 million euros. The partial suspension had been ordered by Chancellor Friedrich Merz on August 8, in response to the escalation of military actions in the Gaza Strip and generated critical reactions from Israel. In comparison, prior to the suspension, Germany had authorized exports of over 250 million euros to the Israeli state.
