German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul says Germany is considering the possibility of recognizing a Palestinian state, but will not do so immediately. He emphasized that a two-state solution is essential for resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Wadephul will hold talks with Palestinian officials in Ramallah amid tensions in the West Bank and the need to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza. France, the UK and Canada have announced similar intentions, criticized by Israel and the US.
