On Wednesday, Germany will be hit by an intense heat wave with temperatures expected to reach 37 degrees Celsius, and on Thursday they could reach 38 degrees. The German Meteorological Service warns of health risks, especially for the elderly and those with medical conditions. Hospitals and nursing homes across the country are not adequately prepared for the heat, with underfunded air-conditioning systems lacking.
