In a debate in the Bundestag, Chancellor Friedrich Merz said there are no more peaceful solutions to the war in Ukraine, underlining the exhaustion of diplomatic means. He criticized Russia's recent attacks and confirmed Germany's commitment to support Ukraine, including increased defense spending. Merz described the regime in Moscow as criminal and assured that the German government will do its utmost to prevent the destruction of Ukraine. He also mentioned plans to allocate €1.9 billion to Ukraine to develop arms production.
