Oleksandr Serskii's message upon leaving the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: "I hand over to my successor an army that is on the offensive"

General Oleksandr Serskyi, the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, sent a public message after his replacement, stating that he leaves behind an army that is active in offense.

In a post on Telegram, Serskyi highlighted his achievements, including the defense of Kyiv and the counteroffensive in Kharkiv.

Ukraine has recaptured 700 square kilometers of its territory this year, Oleksandr Serskyi stated on Wednesday, confirming that he is leaving the highest military position.

"I hand over to my successor an army that not only maintains defensive positions but is also on the offensive," Serskyi stated in a message on Telegram.

He mentioned that he made strategic decisions, such as withdrawing troops from Avdiivka to save lives. Serskyi emphasized that the Ukrainian army has managed to stop the Russian offensive and liberate territories.

He also stated that he implemented reforms such as the establishment of the Pilotless Systems Forces.

Serskyi's replacement at the helm of the Armed Forces comes after days of protests against the dismissal of Mihailo Fedorov from the position of Minister of Defense.

At the same time, Russia has included the new commander Mihailo Drapatii on the list of wanted persons, accusing him of committing war crimes. Ukraine rejects these accusations, considering them part of a smear campaign.
