The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mihailo Drapatii, had his first phone conversation with General Alexus Grynkewich, the Supreme Commander of NATO Allied Forces in Europe (SACEUR), during which the two discussed the situation on the front and Kyiv's military priorities.

Drapatii emphasized the need to strengthen defense lines, intensify precision strikes against Russian forces, and accelerate military reform by granting greater operational autonomy to army corps.

The Ukrainian commander reiterated the need for additional Patriot air defense systems to protect Ukrainian cities and thanked the United States and allies for the military support provided.

The discussion was the first made public after Drapatii's appointment to lead the Ukrainian army and after Grynkewich took command of NATO forces in Europe.
