Gabriel Attal, former prime minister and candidate in the presidential elections of 2027, has filed a complaint for 'foreign interference', accusing Russian networks of manipulating information to destabilize him.
After an initial report regarding external digital interference from Russia, state services informed him about a new interference operation. In recent days, other candidates, such as Edouard Philippe and Raphael Glucksmann, have also been targeted by false information. Attal's complaint denounces the manipulation of information and the fabrication of fake content that affects his image as a candidate.
His lawyers emphasize that these actions can harm the fundamental interests of the nation and the integrity of the elections. Attal warned that without protective measures, the elections could be falsified, accusing Russia of trying to 'steal' the vote. The French judiciary has already opened an investigation in Glucksmann's case.
