At the G7 summit in Evian, the leaders of the world's wealthiest democracies addressed serious issues, but open microphones also captured lighter discussions.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was congratulated for quitting smoking, sparking enthusiasm among her colleagues. Football was another topic of discussion, with French President Emmanuel Macron and others commenting on the World Cup. Donald Trump brought up a UFC event, and a mysterious conversation about Greenland sparked controversy. Macron forgot his watch, and Trump joked about this incident.

Gifts were also a moment of diplomacy, with Macron offering customized bicycles and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz giving a T-shirt with Trump's name. This combination of serious discussions and humorous moments characterized the summit.
