The Russian secret service claims that the suspects involved in the attempted murder of Russian General Vladimir Alekseiev confessed to carrying out orders from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), although Ukraine denies any involvement. Additionally, the FSB accuses Polish intelligence services of being involved in the recruitment of the main suspect, Liubomir Korba, who was supposed to return to Kiev via Romania.

The FSB presented video testimonies of the suspects, who were interrogated after their extradition from Dubai. Korba was accused of leaving Russia after the attack, heading for Dubai, and later Romania and Kiev.

Ukraine has denied any involvement in the assassination attempt on Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseiev, the deputy head of Russia's military intelligence service GRU, which took place on Friday.

"We do not know what happened to that general – maybe it is an internal struggle within Russia," said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, according to Kyiv Independent.

The main suspect was arrested in Dubai. The FSB claims that Korba was trained in Ukraine and was promised a $30,000 bonus for the assassination. General Alekseiev survived and recovered after surgery.
