France is intensifying investments in the Nostradamus radar system, developed in 1995, as part of efforts to strengthen its defense and reduce dependence on the United States. This radar, capable of monitoring hypersonic missiles and high-altitude objects, will be modernized with an initial funding of two million euros, followed by 50 million. The goal is to become operational by 2028, in the context of the current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza.
