Four of the six American soldiers killed on the first day of the Israeli-American offensive in Iran have been identified by the U.S. Department of Defense. Captain Cody Khork (35 years old), Sergeant Noah Tietjens (42 years old), Sergeant Nicole Amor (39 years old), and Sergeant Declan Coady (20 years old) died on March 1, 2026, following a drone attack at Port Shuaiba, in Kuwait.
All were reservists and were part of the 103rd Sustainment Command, based in Des Moines, Iowa. They are the first American casualties of Operation Epic Fury, which began with attacks in Iran, to which Tehran responded by launching missiles and drones against Israel and U.S. bases in the region.
