Joseph Kent, the former head of the anti-terrorism department in Donald Trump's administration, recently resigned, expressing his disagreement with the American-Israeli attack that killed Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.
In an interview with Tucker Carlson, Kent argued that the elimination of Khamenei, who moderated the Iranian nuclear program, will lead to a strengthening of the regime. He emphasized that Iran was not on the verge of obtaining a nuclear weapon, contradicting statements from American officials. Kent also criticized the perception that Iran poses an imminent threat, stating that the real threat comes from Israel's actions.
Kent emphasized that important decisions were made without consulting key decision-makers, which led to an escalation of tensions in the Middle East.
