The refinery's operations had already been affected by attacks from the Houthi group in Yemen, which caused significant damage to the facility.

Aramco's CEO, Amin Nasser, stated that the recent attacks have led to production disruptions, but he is optimistic about restoring operations. Additionally, the Saudi oil industry is facing a blockade of the Bab El Mandeb Strait, imposed by Houthi rebels, in an attempt to exert pressure on the regional allies of the United States.
