The Aramco refinery in Jazan, located in the southwest of Saudi Arabia, was engulfed in a fire on Sunday morning. The Ministry of Energy in Riyadh announced that the flames were quickly extinguished by the company's industrial security teams. No casualties or injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The refinery, which has a processing capacity of approximately 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day, primarily produces gasoline and diesel with ultra-low sulfur content. The refinery's operations had already been affected by attacks from the Houthi group in Yemen, which caused significant damage to the facility.

Aramco's CEO, Amin Nasser, stated that the recent attacks have led to production disruptions, but he is optimistic about restoring operations. Additionally, the Saudi oil industry is facing a blockade of the Bab El Mandeb Strait, imposed by Houthi rebels, in an attempt to exert pressure on the regional allies of the United States.
