A fire broke out at Takinogawa Primary School No. 3 in Tokyo, Japan, near a music hall located on the top floor of the four-story building. Images broadcast by local television showed dense columns of black smoke rising from the upper floor's fixtures, and dozens of fire trucks were mobilized to extinguish the fire.
The Tokyo Fire Department announced that a teacher and several students were rescued from inside the building, suffering minor injuries that do not endanger their lives. Other students and school staff managed to evacuate on their own and gathered in a nearby park, following safety procedures. Authorities confirmed that no one was left trapped inside the building.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire and any technical malfunctions that may have contributed to the incident.
