Antti Hakkanen, the Finnish Minister of Defense, stated that China is massively contributing to Russia's war effort in Ukraine, which poses a challenge for NATO. According to him, China's cooperation with Russia has significantly advanced, with Beijing supplying military components and collaborating in joint military exercises. Although India contributes by purchasing Russian oil, Hakkanen emphasizes that China's support is deliberate and direct. In light of these challenges, the Nordic countries are strengthening military cooperation, discussing the joint use of fighter jets and planning to triple ammunition production. Finland, which joined NATO in 2023, is thus enhancing its capabilities on the Nordic Flank to address emerging threats.
