The ferry "Putri Yasmin" caught fire on the morning of Wednesday while it was off the coast of Lombok Island, in the province of West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. There were approximately 200 people on board, of which 172 were rescued, and one passenger was confirmed dead.

Local authorities have mobilized a large rescue operation, involving vessels from the Indonesian navy and other nearby ships. An Australian is among the survivors, the rest being Indonesians. Helicopters have also been deployed to assist in the search. The cause of the fire is still unknown, and maritime incidents are common in Indonesia due to insufficient safety standards and unpredictable weather conditions.

Rescue operations continue, and authorities remain on alert to find the missing passengers.
