Federal Judge Kate Menendez imposed restrictions on immigration police (ICE) in Minnesota, prohibiting the arrest of protesters who do not obstruct their actions and the use of pepper spray. The decision comes in the context of protests triggered by the death of Renee Good, a 37-year-old mother, shot by police. Donald Trump stated that he sees no reason to invoke the Insurrection Act, which would allow him to use the military in these situations, although he previously threatened to do so if politicians in Minnesota do not uphold the law.

The Department of Justice is also investigating several officials in Minnesota for obstructing ICE actions. Protests continue, and the lawyers for the Good family have announced a civil investigation. The ACLU has filed a lawsuit against the federal administration for violating fundamental human rights.
