The FBI announced on Friday that it thwarted a terrorist plot against a store in North Carolina, planned by Christian Sturdivant, 18 years old, in support of the terrorist group ISIS. Sturdivant was arrested and charged with material support for a foreign terrorist organization. According to prosecutors, he communicated online with an undercover agent whom he believed to be affiliated with ISIS, expressing his intention to carry out an attack on December 31.
During the search of his residence, authorities found handwritten documents, including a detailed plan for an attack, which included targets such as the number of victims. Sturdivant has been detained, and if convicted, he faces a sentence of up to 20 years in prison. The FBI emphasized its commitment to protecting the community and preventing such violent threats.
