The FBI conducted a search on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Fulton County Election Commission in Georgia, as part of investigations related to the unfounded allegations of electoral fraud made by Donald Trump following the 2020 presidential election. Federal agents recovered boxes of ballots from the election center's storage. Trump has been accused by federal authorities and those in Georgia of the illegal attempt to change the results of the election won by Joe Biden, allegations that were withdrawn after he announced his candidacy for a second term in 2024. In recent weeks, Trump has reiterated claims of electoral fraud and threatened to accuse those who have accused him. The fraud allegations have been fueled by statements from his lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, who claimed that election workers in Fulton manipulated the results, allegations for which he was forced to pay damages. Trump was also involved in a controversial call in which he requested the finding of the necessary votes to win in Georgia.
