The explosion took place at the residential center DomusVi Zalfonada Zalfonada and was caused, according to first information, by overheating of a wheelchair charger battery. As a result of the explosion, one person died from smoke inhalation and 19 others were injured and transported to hospitals. Authorities quickly evacuated 132 residents, 35 of whom needed alternative accommodation. The investigation into the exact cause of the incident is ongoing.
