His decision was influenced by the testimonies of dozens of former employees, who described a toxic work environment, with threats and mistreatment.

Redzepi acknowledged his unacceptable behaviors, apologizing to those affected and mentioning that he has undergone therapy to manage his anger. The scandal had a negative impact on the restaurant, which was preparing for an event with ticket prices of $1,500 per person, and major sponsors withdrew. Protests took place outside the venue, highlighting the suffering of employees in the industry.
