On Saturday, Tehran was shaken by explosions after Israel announced a preemptive strike against Iran. The rockets hit the University area and Jomhouri Street, generating columns of smoke visible above Jomhouri Square and Hassan Abad Square. The attack occurred near the offices of the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was not in Tehran at the time of the attack, having been moved to a safe location due to heightened tensions with the United States.
Authorities closed the roads leading to Khamenei's complex, and Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that the attack was carried out to eliminate threats to Israel. At the same time, the Israeli army issued a proactive alert to prepare the population for possible rocket attacks.
