The EU economy ministers addressed the elimination of territorial supply restrictions, calling for legislative measures to reduce prices and improve consumer choices.

Within the Competitiveness Council, European ministers discussed territorial supply restrictions, deemed unjustified and harmful to consumers. A document signed by several member states calls on the European Commission to adopt legislative measures to eliminate these practices, which fragment the market and impose different pressures. Estimates suggest that these restrictions have cost consumers 14 billion euros.
