A European delegation has left for the USA to discuss coordinated sanctions against Russia.

The President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, announced the departure of a European delegation to the USA for negotiations with the Trump administration regarding new sanctions against Russia. The European Commission is working on a new package of sanctions, and Ursula von der Leyen discussed with American Vice President JD Vance to coordinate actions. Ukraine is requesting additional sanctions, especially against Russian oil exports. Donald Trump threatened with massive sanctions but mentioned that he will decide soon whether to continue mediating between Russia and Ukraine. The Kremlin rejected the idea of deploying foreign troops in Ukraine, considering it a provocation.
