The REPowerEU roadmap aims to phase out Russian energy imports while ensuring price stability. Despite progress, the EU has seen a recovery in Russian imports in 2024, which requires coordinated action. The Commission will propose legislative measures to completely stop Russian gas imports by 2027 and will address Russia's nuclear energy. The aim is to become energy independent and protect security of supply.
