Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, stated that progress is being made in unlocking 6.6 billion euros for Ukraine's support during the meeting of defense ministers from member states. Kallas mentioned that, with the appointment of a new Hungarian minister, progress is being made in utilizing these funds, which are essential for aiding Ukraine.

The facility for Ukraine, which came into effect on March 1, 2024, provides over 50 billion euros in the form of grants and loans to support the recovery, reconstruction, and modernization of Ukraine during the period 2024–2027.
