In May 2024, services output grew by 1.7% in the European Union and by 2.1% in the euro area, according to Eurostat. Romania had the most significant decline, of 11.4%, in contrast to major increases in Greece (12.9%), Lithuania (8.9%) and Estonia (7.6%). By segment, 'transportation and storage' services fell by 1.4%, while 'information and communication' rose by 5%. Compared with the previous month, Romania recorded a 1.1% increase in the production of services.
