European Commissioner Hadja Lahbib has announced that the EU will present a preparedness initiative to equip every household in the 27 member states with a survival kit. The kit will include bottled water, energy bars and a flashlight to provide basic necessities for three days in the event of a crisis, be it conflict or natural disaster. It is part of a wider strategy to manage crisis situations in the EU bloc.
