According to data published on the AGSI platform of Gas Infrastructure Europe, gas stocks in the European Union are significantly lower compared to last year. As of November 24, 2025, EU deposits totaled 892.39 TWh, with a filling degree of 78.14%, compared to 1,006.58 TWh and 87.70% on the same date in 2024. Germany, the largest storage operator in the EU, recorded a drastic decrease in stocks, from 232.56 TWh to 175.75 TWh, and the filling degree dropped from 92.47% to 69.98%. Other countries, such as the Netherlands, Hungary, and Austria, also experienced significant declines. In contrast, Romania reported an increase in stocks, from 30.27 TWh to 31.56 TWh, with a filling degree that rose from 89.39% to 93.21%. This generalized decrease in stocks may influence the gas market in the winter months, generating additional pressures in conditions of extreme cold or supply disruptions.
