Brussels will present a plan to cut water use by at least 10% by 2030 amid prolonged droughts. Environment commissioner Jessika Roswall stresses the importance of water efficiency. The plan includes investing in infrastructure, reducing water losses and encouraging water reuse. Although the target is non-binding, the commission will push for implementation. The economic risks associated with water scarcity are increasingly recognized by financial institutions.
