In a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that the war in the Middle East should not hinder peace efforts in Ukraine. Erdogan emphasized the need to continue negotiations to heal Ukraine's wounds and mentioned the importance of maritime security in the Black Sea. He proposed a ceasefire that would protect energy and port infrastructure, believing that this could build trust between the parties.

Erdogan also stated that Turkey is ready to host the next round of trilateral discussions. Zelensky welcomed the initiative, mentioning that the U.S. has proposed organizing a new round of negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow, which could take place in Switzerland or Turkey.
