On Sunday, in Geneva, an emergency summit will take place with the participation of officials from the USA, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, to discuss a recently developed American plan for ending the war in Ukraine. Special envoy Steve Witkoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will lead the discussions, in the context where American President Donald Trump has set a deadline for Ukraine to approve the plan, which includes ceding some territories and limiting military forces. The Ukrainian delegation, led by Andrii Yermak, will include security officials, and European leaders consider the plan as a basis for negotiations, although it requires "additional work." The American plan provides for the cession of the Donbas region to Russia, limiting Ukrainian military personnel, and renouncing NATO membership, in exchange for security guarantees and the possibility of joining the European Union.
