CNN published emails revealing conversations between Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, in which Epstein claims that Donald Trump spent a lot of time with a woman whom Democrats consider a victim of sex trafficking. In a 2011 message, Epstein suggests that Trump "knew about the girls" and that he had interactions with him in social contexts. Maxwell, convicted of sex trafficking, stated that she never saw Trump in inappropriate situations.

Trump's relationship with Epstein has been a subject of controversy, especially in the context of calls to release records related to Epstein, who died in prison in 2019. The emails also include discussions about how Trump should respond to questions related to Epstein during the debates. Trump has denied any illegal involvement and has filed defamation lawsuits related to his relationship with Epstein.
