Elon Musk stated that Marine Le Pen is "the last hope of France"

Elon Musk has publicly expressed his support for Marine Le Pen, the leader of the National Rally (RN), a possible candidate for the presidential elections in 2027.

Musk posted on the social network X that Le Pen represents "the last hope of France" and noted her rise in the polls.

The government of President Emmanuel Macron reacted, accusing him of interference in France's internal politics, and Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot asked Musk to withdraw his statements.

Although Musk has not explicitly supported Le Pen's candidacy until now, he has been a supporter of hers during the recent criminal trial.

Marine Le Pen was sentenced to 45 months of prohibition from holding public office, but the sentence theoretically allows her to run in 2027, although house arrest could complicate the campaign.

Le Pen intends to challenge the decision in the Court of Cassation.
