The European Court of Human Rights has decided not to suspend the measure of ineligibility imposed on Marine Le Pen, president of the Rassemblement National, in the context of an investigation into election financing. Le Pen is hoping to run in 2027 and is challenging the legality of the ban, but the ECHR ruled that there was no imminent risk of violation of her rights. This is her first defeat in her appeal to the ECHR.
