On Monday, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 occurred in the Antilles, according to the University of the West Indies, while the USGS reported a magnitude of 6.5. The quake struck at 8:38 local time (14:38 Romania time) and was felt especially in Guadeloupe and Martinique. Although no injuries or damages were immediately reported, authorities issued a tsunami alert for these islands. Additional technical details about the earthquake are to be provided by researchers. The local publication RCI confirmed that the tremor was felt over a wide area, but no serious incidents were reported.
