The Israeli ambassador to Germany, Ron Prosor, accuses Iran of trying to draw Europe into the war in the Middle East, citing the alleged drone attack on the British airbase in Akrotiri, Cyprus, as a signal in this regard. The diplomat stated that he hopes European states will "respond accordingly" and reminded of the mutual assistance clause provided in Article 42 of the EU Treaty. The attack, confirmed by the British Ministry of Defence, was reportedly carried out with a Shahed-type drone, and authorities specified that the damages were minimal and there were no casualties.
