Following torrential rain in Catalonia, two people are missing in the town of Cubelles and the search is concentrating on the banks of the Foix river. The floods have led to a red alert being issued, seriously affecting rail traffic and causing problems at hospitals and the airport. More than 70 people required medical attention but no serious cases. Adjacent regions have also been affected, and memories of a tragic episode in 2024 are heightening concerns about emergency management.
