The fire started in a caravan in a campground and spread rapidly due to strong winds. Authorities evacuated at least seven hotels and two campgrounds, and 5,000 vehicles were removed from the area. 17 aircraft are helping to extinguish the fire and the main road has been closed for 9 kilometers. Although the fire is not directly threatening Tarifa, the risk of fire in Spain is extremely high due to the heatwave.
