A devastating fire severely affected the Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach Hotel in the Dominican Republic, causing the evacuation of approximately 1,690 tourists. Authorities confirmed that an Italian tourist, Francesca Valentino, aged 46, died as a result of the fire, and other individuals required medical assistance. Three people were transported to the hospital, and six received care on-site. The fire was fueled by wind and the resort's thatched roof, and the cause is under investigation. Local media footage shows thick clouds of black smoke rising above the Caribbean coast. The neighboring resort, Dominicus Palace, was not affected and is operating normally. Tourist activities in Bayahibe remain unaffected, and the Dominican Republic continues to be a popular destination, attracting millions of visitors annually.
