A powerful deflagration occurred in a neighborhood in San Francisco after a worker struck a gas line during excavation work. Surveillance camera footage shows a house exploding, sending debris into the air and causing a fire. One house was completely destroyed, and three other buildings were damaged. Six people were transported to the hospital, three of whom are in serious condition. Firefighters had difficulty intervening due to fallen electrical wires in the area.
The explosion took place in the Ashland community, where infrastructure work was being carried out. Pacific Gas & Electric was alerted to the damage to the pipeline and stopped the gas flow, but the explosion occurred shortly after the supply was cut off. Authorities continue the investigation to determine responsibility and risks in the area.
